I love this piece, and all the nay-sayers on deviantart can sod off a damned cliff.

Internet needs more Sheploo and Garrus.  

i don’t get the “yaoi fangirl” bullshit on DA. 

in the multiverse of shepards, there have to be gay or bisexual garruses. there wasn’t one in the game, but that was one facet of a story. when you make a choice, you spawn a universe with the opposite choice. that’s how multiverses work. and i don’t think it’s possible for there ever to be the One True Shepard. nothing is set up that way. if shepard varies so much, it is inevitable that their companions will also vary. it’s very hard to work that into a game, though. it’s a lot of extra coding and recording.

i have a bisexual garrus outside the game. i am not a yaoi fangirl. my canon shep is a woman, and my garrus loves her, but she’s currently dead, and he’s fallen in love with a man. 

so. what do we do, then? turian society says you can basically do anything you want as long as you remain devoted to your job or your position in society. so i am pretty sure their society does not give a damn if someone is some flavour of gay. 

and if the advisor to the primarch, who also happened to be a major hero of the reaper war, turns out to be not straight and wants to adopt a child with his human partner, are they really going to flip out on him and say no?

no one, not even the fucking canon, gets to dictate everything that happens behind the scenes or beyond the scenes. what if canon hetero garrus and shep survive the war and they realise that their very serious friendship could be something more than that when they don’t have things trying to kill them every day? it’s perfectly plausible.

bioware usually encourages people to get creative, write shit, draw shit, make shit up. at least with the DA fandom. they wanted us to write fanfic. they’ve been trying to give us characters with a range of sexualities since the first game and kept having to cut it. and we got a variety from the start in da:o.

i’m tired. i’m a man. i’m not straight. i can never be a fangirl. i haven’t read a yaoi comic since i read some doujinshi in the summer of 2007. i ship a lot of het pairings in ME. 

and you know what, i don’t play/watch/read/write mshep if i have a choice (which i don’t often on youtube), so i don’t really ship him with anyone at all. maybe tali.  

but it does not matterif someone else wants their mshep to survive the war with garrus and adopt children together. it doesn’t have a goddamn thing to do with my particular viewpoint on the ME universe. 

my garrus’ partner already has children, so if there was going to be some big wangst adoption dilemma, it was moot before it arrived.

i hope they’re happy, in this person’s universe and they live a good, long, loving life together with their children. it’s all i ever really want for any character i care about. for them to be happy. somewhere. somehow. and garrus is, at least, probably the least tragic person i have running around in my head right now. he has the best chance of being happy. 

so let him.

and shut the fuck up with your homophobic bullshit.
